Objective rehabilitation built for a confident return
Bertrand Koh is the Co-founder of MoveMed’s Orchard clinic and a Principal Physiotherapist with more than a decade of clinical experience in Singapore. He graduated with First-Class Honours in Physiotherapy from the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia.
Before joining MoveMed, Bertrand spent six years working at one of Singapore’s largest public hospitals. He gained experience across a wide range of complex rehabilitation settings, with a particular focus on post-operative knee, hip, ankle and shoulder conditions and helping patients return safely to sport.
Drawing on his background in competitive rugby and his experience supporting national-level athletes, Bertrand combines objective testing, progressive exercise and sport-specific rehabilitation. His aim is to ensure that each stage of recovery is relevant to the physical demands the patient ultimately needs to meet.
“Good rehabilitation prepares you for more than the next exercise. It gives you the strength and confidence to return safely to sport and everyday life.”
Progress guided by evidence and objective testing
Bertrand takes a holistic, evidence-based and data-centred approach to rehabilitation. He combines clinical assessment with objective measures of strength, movement and physical capacity so that progress can be evaluated clearly.
Rather than progressing solely according to time, rehabilitation is adapted around how the patient is responding and the demands they eventually need to meet. This may range from returning to everyday movement to preparing for competitive sport.
Rehabilitation for surgery, sport and complex injuries
Bertrand works extensively with orthopaedic and sports-related conditions, particularly those requiring structured progression before returning to demanding physical activity.
Post-Operative Rehabilitation
Structured rehabilitation following knee, hip, ankle and shoulder surgery, progressing from early recovery towards strength and full function.

Objective testing helps identify what has improved, what still requires attention and whether the patient is physically prepared for the next stage of rehabilitation.
Assess the Demands
Bertrand considers the movements, loads and physical qualities required for the patient’s work, sport or chosen activity.
Measure Physical Capacity
Strength, movement quality and functional performance are assessed to identify deficits and establish meaningful rehabilitation targets.
Progress with Evidence
Rehabilitation advances when the patient demonstrates the capacity required for greater loading, complexity and sport-specific activity.
Experience across rugby and combat sports
Bertrand has been involved with Singapore national rugby programmes since 2014. He initially supported age-group teams before working with the Men’s and Women’s National Rugby Sevens squads.
He served as team physiotherapist for Men’s Rugby Sevens at the 2017 Southeast Asian Games and for the Women’s Rugby Sevens team at the 2025 Southeast Asian Games. He currently supports the National Women’s Sevens team and travels with them for training and competitions.
